Designed to feed the soul with the rich heritage and culinary artistry of the African diaspora, the 3rd Annual Afro Freedom AfroFeast celebration featured renowned chefs from New Orleans cooking over open flames and paying homage to their ancestors. Participating chefs included Serigne Mbaye, Nina Compton, Martha Wiggins, Charly Pierre, Prince Lobo, Kaitlin Guerin, and Shonda Cross who prepared an incredible menu of global flavors including Dakar NOLA’s signature jollof rice. The event, which included a silent auction, was held at Grow Dat Youth Farm to support youth leadership, sustainability, and a commitment to community. Glass Half Full, a local recycling company, ensured sustainability efforts through the recycling of event items.
